The Listeners Speak

This family in northern India represents the kind of people that we are seeking to reach with the gospel. So many people have never heard the gospel before and do not have the opportunity to hear it in a clear way. We are producing gospel radio programs in languages that people like this can understand. We now have programs in 17 languages reaching people in North America, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and countries like Bhutan, China, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Benin, Uganda, India, Russia, Cuba, Colombia, and others.

 

China – “I’m a shortwave listener from China. I am very interested in what your programs teach about the general way of life. I listen to the shortwave band on my radio receiver to follow developments directly and to enjoy the unique style of teaching about religion and the gospel from your program. Because your signal varies in strength during different times of the year, it is not always the same. I hope to find the best time to listen mainly because you provide me with a unique source of information about religion and the gospel.” – Beijing (9-23-06)

China – “I have the honor to write you a letter with a listening report for you. I am a shortwave listener in Shenyang, Liaoning, China...I am not sure where you transmit your radio programs, but I hope to know more about your radio station and daily work. Please send me your frequency guide.” – Liaoning (5-29-06)

India – “Thank you for broadcasting the word of God on the radio...It’s a great blessing for our entire family to hear the good news about the Lord Jesus Christ. If possible kindly send us some books to know Christ better.” – Kondaveedu (3-06)

India – “We want to hear your Telugu program more than one day a week. If possible, kindly increase the number of programs for a week. We were blessed to hear the last program...Our entire family is gathering around the radio for this program.” – Rajolu (3-06)

Nepal – “I like this Muktiko Aawaaz Radio Karyakram so much. That’s why every week I am listening to the programs without missing even one. Because of that my interest towards this is increasing. My faith in God started growing because in this program it is explaining about God or Jesus. Till now I haven’t had any chance to read books about this. And now since I started listening to this program I feel like reading books about this. I hear you announcing about free books, so I am writing this letter. I hope you will help me by sending books about this.” – West Nepal (8-18-06)

Nepal – One day on Thursday evening at 8:30 PM, I have listened to your program. After I listened, I felt like writing you.  I would also like to accept this religion. Please send me a Bible or booklets which would help me know about this religion.” – West Nepal (9-18-06)

Bhutan – Report from our coworker in Nepal who met listeners from Bhutan – “Recently, a believer brother from Thimphu, Bhutan came to attend a seminar in Kathmandu. He told me that he is one of the regular listeners. He said, ‘Sometimes I have to miss the program when I go to attend prayer meeting at 8 PM on Friday.’ He said there are others who are listening to the program regularly in Bhutan. It seems the program is coming through so clearly. I have asked him to tell others to listen to the program and write me about the program.” – Nepal (3-4-06)

Russia – “My name is Alex. I live in a small village lost in the forests. I’m a high school student attending 11^th grade. We used to live in a city where I heard Christians’ preaching about God, about Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, back then I didn’t take this proclamation seriously. But when we moved to this remote village I grew interested in the purpose of my life. So now with great pleasure I listen to your every broadcast by Pastor Kirill Nikiforov devoted to the Word of Life. I’m writing to you because I’d like to receive some Christian literature. It’s good to listen to your messages but now I want to know even more about God.... ” – Moscow (10-06)

Ukraine – “I always listen to your programs ‘Voskressenie’ by Pastor Kirill, because I like them very much. Impatiently, I’m waiting for a Thursday evening when your program is on. I live in a village. We have a small church here with only eight members. We don’t even have a pastor....”
