The above picture shows one of our coworkers in India recording a radio program in what we call a field studio. He is using a laptop computer in a private home to record his program in a language which will be undestood by millions of people in India. This is not an expensive sound studio but it is a quiet room and the equipment he is using records a high quality mp3 audio file. Our purpose in using field studios like this is to make it possible for a pastor in a third world country to be able to record good quality radio programs without having to acquire expensive equipment or to go to an elaborate sound studio to make his recordings. 

Another coworker in Northern India records in a quiet room with a small mini disc recorder. He ends up with a high quality recording on mindisc that can easily be mailed. He does not have to journey to a city where a recording studio is located to record his programs. He can record in a small village just as well with the use of this simple equipment. His program will be put on shortwave radio and reach many people who would not otherwise be able to hear the gospel in their mother tongue.

Our key workers in India and Nepal receive recordings like these regularly from our coworkers in the field. They in turn put these recordings on computer with some processing and then send them on to us here in the US via internet transfer for further processing before they go out to radio stations to broadcast on shortwave.

Through the use of field studios, we are recording gospel radio programs in the languages of the less reached peoples of the world. There are so many people in the world who have never heard the gospel even the first time in their own mother tongue. Our goal is to produce gospel radio programs in the native languages of the unreached and then to broadcast them in a medium such as shortwave where the people who most need to hear the gospel can easily hear the programs.
